Walking around with them as they water and prune their plants, it's hard to picture the attractive middle-aged couple in heavy makeup and rhinestone-studded leotards. Running a nursery in Florida is a far cry from the glitz and glamor of Las Vegas, but the Berosinis don't seem to miss the spotlight. Lynn pointed to a colorful array of flowers and said, "See those? They are called 'yesterday, today, and tomorrow' flowers because they are different colors yesterday, today, and tomorrow." Their nursery is filled with orchids, poinsettias, bougainvillea, palm trees, and bromeliads. "Exotic plants is a passion of ours," said Lynn. The first week in November, they opened the retail nursery in Englewood. By 1998, they had outgrown their property and moved their farm to Myakka City. In 1990, the Berosinis retired their Spandex and sequins and started a nursery in Tampa. Twenty years ago, in Las Vegas, the couple worked regularly at Circus Circus, as "Veno Berosini - The King of Swords" and "Fantasia and her Feathered Fantasy Act." Twenty years ago, that wouldn't have been an unusual request. ![]() Nor would you think to ask husband/co-owner Veno to leap through a ring of 20 swords. ENGLEWOOD - You would never think to ask Lynn Berosini, one of the owners of the Pomello Park Nursery in the Lemon Bay Shopping Center, to hold a hoop while 100 birds flew through on command.
